Paul Denny is an associate professor in the School of Computer Science at the University of Auckland, New Zealand. His research interests include developing and evaluating tools for supporting collaborative learning, particularly involving student-generated resources, and exploring the ways that students engage with digital learning environments. He is also interested in the application of AI to education, specifically how feedback from large language models can be integrated into environments for computing education to support novice programmers.

Nasser Giacaman is a senior lecturer in the Department of Electrical, Computer and Software Engineering at the University of Auckland, New Zealand. He focuses on developing and evaluating pedagogically-sound software solutions for educational contexts, known as Digital Educational Engineering, including AI, AR/VR, mobile, and web-based. Nasser is also the AI Leader for ByteEd, an EdTech company based in Auckland developing computational thinking solutions for children.

Jane Allison

Jane Allison is an associate professor in the School of Biological Sciences at the University of Auckland, New Zealand. She develops and uses computer simulation techniques to characterise how biomolecules move and interact in their natural environment and how this influences their function and evolution. Recently, together with researchers with expertise in VR, she has leveraged her background in modelling molecules to build VR experiences to help teach key concepts in molecular biology.

Philip Sanders is a research fellow in the Dept. of Audiology at the University of Auckland, New Zealand. He has a background in Psychology, Cognitive Neuroscience, and Audiology. His research interests include multisensory perception, brain plasticity, and the use of technology and digital therapeutics for perceptual issues, especially tinnitus.

Kien Tran is a postdoctoral fellow at the School of Computer Science, University of Auckland. He received his PhD from the HIT Lab NZ at the University of Canterbury in New Zealand in 2021. Kien’s research interests include user experience in applications of extended reality (XR) for education and training, as well as digital twins.
